memento is a collection of miscellaneous recordings that i liked but couldn't fit into more organized releases.
rain 2017 was originally an interlude in an avant-garde metal demo i recorded in 2017. the version on memento was largely unchanged from that original, in contrast to the version on TRANSMISSIONS 1.
fading_keepsake was from the same demo as rain 2017 and drifting, and was actually the first thing i wrote after installing musescore. i initially tried for an atmospheric, lo-fi hip-hop sort of sound complete with skips and breaks, though the modern released version is significantly noisier. features a lot of mel9 flute patch on the guitar.
Delimiter Zero grew out of the same 2019 demo as delimiter from haunted object online, acting as the intro portion of the track.
TRUST was my attempt at making a noisy, cramped-sounding interlude from a time before i really understood distortion or how to mix loud music. despite my inexperience at the time, i think it turned out well, especially for consisting entirely of drums and guitar run through various processing (mostly mel9 choir or orchestra, plus amp distortion and then audacity distortion).
drifting is one of those old compositions that keeps surfacing in different spots, as the beginning is one of my favorite melodies that i have ever written while also being fairly versatile. listening closely may also turn up a connection to a certain mysterious track i made this year...
